I am looking for the date/year that the bridge over the Cedar River between Shellsburg and Urbana was built. In the 1870 census of Vinton, it shows a lot of "bridge builders" listed. Also, what was the year of the flood that washed away Benton City?

SUMNER James Monroe Sumner moved to Garrison in 1872,from Dodge County Minnesota. The first dwelling in Dodge County Minnesota was built for him in a village called Sumners Grove. He only lived in Garrison for one year. Is there an obit or any information there in Benton Co, as we are celebrating a Sesquicentinial here.
