ERLAND - OLSON Looking for any information or individuals from the family of Segnor and Sarah ERLAND. Segnor was born in Tysvaer, Norway on 4 Jan 1841. He emmigrated to the US and join the Union army to fight in the Civil War. In 1868 he bought a farm in Eldorado twp. Sarah Ann OLSON was born in LaSalle Co, ILL 23 Sep 1851. She moved with her parents, Ole Olson Hetletveit and Bertha Toresdatter Danielson, to Benton Co in 1865. Segnor and Sarah had 9 children: Elizabeth, Oscar, Otto, Mathilda (Tilly), Porter, Chester, Charley, Clarence, and Elmer.

Looking for family BURKE, William T. born in 1848, died 1904 in Glasgow, Montana. His first wife was "Nellie"(we believe short for something else) MCNETT who ws born in Michigan. They had two daughters Rose b. 1889 and Nellie b. 1893 in Montana. Mother died in childbirth and William remarried. At time of his death his daughters were split between relatives and sent away. Rose went to live with (???) in Vinton, Benton co., Iowa. does anyone recognize this story?? Email me.

BAIRD , MURPHY : Am looking for more information on Bernard & Luella ( BAIRD ) MURPHY & their descendants. I know 2 of their children ( Louise & Edward ) moved to Oak Park , IL around 1920. And Helen moved to Waterloo, IA & was married to Alfred MULLAN.

SPARRENBERGER - PRISER: Henry Sparrenberger came over with his father John from Weisbaden, Germany. The first date that I have showing them in Benton Co is 1869. Henry married Sophia Priser and they had the following children: Kathrina, 1866-NY, Christion, 1867-NY, Gertrude, 1869-IA, Henry, 1871-IA, Nancy, 1872-IA, Lottie, 1874-IA, Charles, 1875- IA, Ella, 1878-IA, Daughter, 1 mo old 1879-IA and Margaret, 1883-IA They owned a farm in section 28 of Fremont Twp. Appreciate any information you might have.

Need proofs of births for children of Johannes & Emma HELDT of Belle Plaine: William b. 3 Mar 1879, Thomas b. 8 Aug 1883, Hulda b. 10 May 1887. I know that Emma & Hulda were later active in ME Church after moving to another county, but don't know about this family's church affiliation during the 1880's. Does anyone have a suggestion?

COLE, Eddy J., wife Dicy located in Benton County, Blaristown 1870 Census. One child Ezra born somewhere in Iowa 1856. Family went back to IN during 1860 era then were back in Blairstown IA in 1870. Had a dau Malissa J. born early 1865, also somewhere in Iowa. Trying to determine children's birth counties. Any ideas other than county by county correspondence?

KREGER I am interested in any information regarding this family who lived in Iowa township from 1860 - 1880 or so. Father William, mother Catherine, sons William, Fred, Henry and Levi. They owned land in section 22 and 23 of this township.Lose track of them after about 1880.Any information appreciated. Would really like to find a burial site for some.

Looking for information about a possible Orphan Train stop in Vinton in June of 1894. Walter JONES was placed with someone in Vinton at that time.
