Hello -

Thank you for answering my query. I see that I put it out there almost six years ago. It just shows that you never can tell when you may find a new connection. Francis McDermott, older brother of Ambrose, was my great great grandfather. We know of a little about both Ambrose, and their brother, John, who also lived and died in or near Fort Dodge. My sister was recently in contact with another descendant of Mathias and we learned a little more about the family. I would be very interested in exchanging information about the McDermott family if you are interested. We have a picture of Ambrose, as well as one of his sons, William and Mathias, but none of any of the women (Bridget, or daughter or daughter-in-laws). I would be willing to share these with you, as well as any others. Ambrose and Francis' parents, James and Priscilla, had ten sons. We have pictures of all except for John and William. My sister hopes that some day we will find a picture of James and Priscilla, but no such luck yet. We have A LOT of information on the McDermott family if you are interested.

Thanks again for sending me the little snippets of stories. I always love to hear little stories - it helps to make the people more real, and not just a list of names and dates. I look forward to hearing from you again.
