Hi Joy,
Just took a quick gander at the Pleasant Valley Twp map on the Webster GenWeb page and then jumped to the Coalville page. I see a McDermott north of Coalville on the 1870 Township map with all landowner names. It is very hard to read but it looks like Mrs. H or K McDermott and two other people on this plot of land. Looks like it might be 40 acres located in the NW quarter section of the NE quarter of Section #8.
Here is the page link: http://www.freehomepages.com/coalville/mikealbright.html
Directly south of Coalville are Mrs. Mary Collins est. of 295 acres and next to that is Henry J. Collins, 307 acres. I don't see any Hogans in the township but my Ggrandfather, Frederick Buscher married an Agnes Hogan after his first wife died at Lehigh, in Washington Township just east of Pleasant Valley Township. Hogan was her married name and she was a widow also with young children as was Frederick. Perhaps there is a clue here in my ramblings. LOL
