Services for Mrs. Clara Houg, conducted by Dr. S. J. Strandjord, were held at 1:30 Saturday, April 12, at her home in St. Olaf and at 2:00 in the Norway Lutheran church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Clara Nelson Houg, daughter of Berener and Gunild Nelson was born July 30, 1885 in Marion township and died at her home in St. Olaf, April 09, 1952, at the age of 66 years.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder. She spent the early years of her life in and near Elgin, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Ole K. Houg at the Decorah Lutheran church by the Rev. O. Glesne. They spent their entire married life in St. Olaf. To this union were born one daughter, Geraldine and one son, Donald.

Mrs. Houg was an active member of the Norway Lutheran church and the St. Olaf Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, her husband and daughter. She is survived by her son Donald of St. Olaf, three sisters: Mrs. Josie Tollefson of Decorah, Mrs. Andrew Wold of St. Olaf, Mrs. Harold Landsgard of Clermont and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: Bernard and Raymond Tollefson, Clarence Anderson, Burdette Wold, Millard Houg and Kenneth Kjosa.
