Funeral serviices for John C. Rodas were held at the Witt Funeral chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, April 12, 1952. The Rev. Paul Kitterer of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at Elkader officiated. Burial was in the Union cemetery at Littleport.
John C. Rodas was born Aug. 13, 1873 in Cox Creek township, Clayton county, Iowa, the son of John and Lena Sonbold Rodas and died at the home of his brother Fred Rodas Wednesday, April 09, 1952, at the age of seventy-eight years, seven months and twenty-six days.
Mr. Rodas became crippled through a disease when ten years of age and since that time was hindered from doing any hard labor. Of late years he had lost his eye sight. He never married. He moved to Elkader with his brother Fred in the year 1950.
He is survived by two brothers, August and Fred both of Elkader. His parents and three brothers William, Charles and Henry preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were: Lowell Zapf, H. H. Liddy, ack Leonard, John Glawe, Gus Rethmeier, Emmet Liddy.
