Funeral services for Peter L. Easton, 68, were held at the Gill chapel in Strawberry Point on Monday afternoon, Dec. 19, with the Rev. Wayne L. Carlson officiating. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Peter Easton was born near Strawberry Point on March 03, 1887, the son of Joshua and Carolyn King Easton. He was married to Irene Northrup, and later divorced. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. He was engaged in farming until he moved to Strawberry Point several years ago. He died at the Veteran's hospital at Iowa City on Friday, after a four weeks' stay there. Death was attributed to pneumonia.

He is survived by his brother, Ed Easton of Strawberry Point and a daughter, Violet Easton, address unknown.
