Mrs. Louena Peterson Larson, daughter of Albert Peterson and Bertha Nelson Peterson was born near St. Olaf, Iowa, Feb. 22, 1880, and died Dec. 01, 1955, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, near Postville, after a lingering illness. She reached the age of seventy-five years, nine months and eight days.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Norway Lutheran church near St. Olaf.
On June 25, 1904, she was united in marriage with Martin C. Larson, who died July 19, 1953.
To this union were born five children. One son, Joseph, died in infancy. Surviving are: Clarence of Monona, Mrs. Elmer (Adelia) Brockmeyer of Postville, Roscoe of Elgin, and Aldo of Castalia; four brothers, Peter, St. Olaf; Martin, Velva, N.Dak.; Gust, Marquette, Mich.; Oliver, Guttenberg; three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Martie, West Union; Mrs. Albertina Bergan, Roseglen, N.Dak.; Mrs. Johanna Juvik, Harpers Ferry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Joseph, one sister, Mrs. Sophia Quam, and one brother, Adolph.
Funeral services were held at the Shultz funeral home Saturday, Dec. 03, at 1:15 and at the Norway Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Burial was in the Monona cemetery.
