Funeral services were held for Mrs. Margaret K. Leyen Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock from Witt's funeral chapel to St. Joseph's Catholic church at 9:30. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. D. A. Gorman officiated at the services.

Mrs. Leyen died Oct. 22 at Kansas City, Mo., after an illness of one month.

She was born on Nov. 09, 1899, in Elkader and was a daughter of John W. and Margaret K. McLaughlin. On July 30, 1940, she was married to Christian Leyen at Clarksville, Iowa. The couple had made their home in Kansas City since 1942.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elinor Wareham of Oelwein, and a son, T/Sgt. John C. Latham of Lockbourne A.F.B., Columbus, Ohio. Another son, Paul Francis, died in 1935. In addition she leaves a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Fewell of Chillicothe, Mo.

Mrs. Leyen was educated at St. Joseph's school in Elkader and at St. Mary's academy in Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral services were: T/Sgt. John C. Latham, Mrs. J. C. Latham of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Wareham and son, Billy of Oelwein, and Mrs. Geraldine Fewell and Mrs. Helen Richards of Chillicothe, Mo.
