Miss Barbara Burlingame, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Burlingame Sr. of Elkader, and Loren Mohning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Mohning of Clayton, exchanged wedding vows at St. Joseph church in Elkader Saturday. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel Gorman officiated. Miss Jean Cassutt, Dubuque, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and James Jacobs of Guttenberg, friend of the groom, was best man. Roland Troester of Clayton, friend of the groom, and Edward Burlingame Jr., brother of the bride, were the ushers. Nephews of the bride, David Hedeman and Jon Burlingame, were acolytes.
A reception was held at the Legion club, at which Mrs. Glenn Mentzel sister of the bride, cut the cake, assisted by Mrs. Ed. Burlingame Jr., sister-in-law of the bride. Miss Patty Pederson, cousin of the bride, entertained at the piano.
The bride was graduated from St. Joseph's school in Elkader, and attended Marycrest college in Davenport. At present she is employed at the county court house as assessor's clerk. Her husband is engaged in farming.
After a short wedding trip the couple will live at Clayton.
