Dittmer - Dillon marriage - 1955

Mary Dillon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Dillon of Strawberry Point became the bride of Norbert Dittmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Dittmer of Strawberry Point at the St. Joseph's Catholic church in Elkader, July 11, 1955. The Rev. Cletus Hawes officiated. Pat Olson, cousin of the bride and Joe Robinson were alter boys. The bridesmaid was Ellen Dillon, sister of the bride, and best man was Carroll McTaggart of Elkader, a friend of the couple. Ushers were Larry Berns, cousin of the bride, and Neil Dittmer, brother of the groom.

A reception was held at the bride's home, at which the wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Hayden Davies, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Larry Berns poured. Mrs. Ivan Hardt, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the bride's book.

Mrs. Dittmer is a graduate of Volga high school and Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls. She taught the past year in the Winthrop public school. Mr. Dittmer is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school, a veteran of the Korean War and a student at Upper Iowa university at Fayette.
