Miss Pat Schmelzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmelzer of Littleport, and Pfc. Franklin Wacker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wacker of Elkader, exchanged wedding vows, July 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Elkader with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Daniel A. Gorman officiating. Miss Karen Walter, niece of the groom, was maid of honor, and Edna Voss, friend of the couple, was bridesmaid. Cpl. Don White from Tornado, W.Va., served as best man, and Loren Schmelzer, cousin of the bride, was groomsman. Ushers were Robert Schmelzer, brother of the bride, and Donnie Peterson, friend of the couple.
