George Griffith Boone, son of Rosa and Thomas Boone, was born May 26, 1909 in Guthrie county and
passed away October 24, 1954 in Eagle Grove, Iowa at the age of 45 years, 4 months, 28 days. He spent his early life in Guthrie county, attending school there. He was united in marriage on August 30, 1929 to Lottie Ruth Godwin and to this union were born four children. Six years ago the family moved to Eagle Grove and have since made their home here. His occupation was farming and trucking. He had many interests, among them fishing and hunting was quite a sportsman, having recently joined the Izaac Walton league. He was a devoted family man and spent most of his time with them.He is survived by his wife, Lottie, two daughters Ethel and Betty Christian, two sons Melvin and Marvin all of Eagle Grove, and five grandchildren, three brothers Fred and Charley of Montezuma, Iowa, and Chester of Jefferson, Iowa; three sisters, Elizabeth Cox and Anna Carson of Jamaica, Iowa, and Lydia Schlighter of Woodward, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, a sister, Mina Hanson, and an infant brother. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Wilson-Sacquety Funeral Chapel in charge of Rev. Lloyd Meyer. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
