Stoppelmoor and Saatoff

I’m attempting to unpeel an onion of my heritage. There is a story that is told by my family (and now a Stoppelmoor family in SD) of a Stoppelmoor changing their name to Saatoff. The interesting thing is my Great Grandfather (Jalla Ruter Saatoff) had a son (my grandfather) named Rint Jalla Saatoff, Leona Saatoff & Elizabeth Saatoff. Jalla lived in Wright County as did Rient Stoppelmoor, during the same time frame (turn of the Century).

I was hoping to get help with Jalla’s parents names. Jalla was born 1878 possibly in Washington, Butler County but in the 1900 Census there is a link to Wright County, IA.
