My grandmother Anna Margaret Hammer was taken to a Catholic Convent/Orphanage when she was very young
He mother had died and her father could not care for her. They had a farm near Dubuque and were immigrants from Luxembourg. Fathers name was Cornelius Hammer and I am looking for her mothers maiden name. The time line would be, guessing, 1870's.
