Mitchell COLLINS b. ca. 1823 in N. Ireland immigrataed ca. 1842. He arrived in NY where he spend one year & one year in the oil fields in Pennsylvania. Moved to Clinton, IA where he was employed by the rail road and lived there until 1881. He married Anna GRAVENOR 10 Sept. 1871. Anna was born in Messingham, England 23 Nov. 1846. They had 8 children, five of them born in Clinton. The 3 oldest died in infancy while living in Clinton. (cause unknown) They later moved to North Tama County to a small rail road community named Waltham where they raised their family and are now buried. According to the 1880 Clinton Census there were other Collins living nearby. Mitchell is listed as being from Enlgland on the census. Did Mitchell have relative we never knew about?
