We are researching Robert ALLISON, born 1781 Franklin Co Pa, lived Rockingham Co VA, and came to the "Virginia Settlement" Orange Twp Clinton Co IA in 1855. His wife was Hedessa SMITH, dau/of Conrad SMITH, Hessian soldier. Members of the SMITH family also came to the Virginia Settlement. We are trying to prove Robert's father Robert who was supposed to have come to America in 1750. John J. NORMAN married the daughter Mary ALLISON in Rockingham, and they lived across the border in Scott Co.
