Funeral services were held for Arthur L. Kramer, Tuesday, July 17 from Witt's chapel at 1:30 p.m. and the Congregational church at 2 p.m. He died at Independence July 14 following a long illness.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert G. Kelly at the Congregational church, and Harry Schott from Marquette conducted the Masonic burial service at the East Side cemetery.
Mr. Kramer was born at Elkader, November 05, 1883, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kramer. He spent his boyhood in Elkader and attended Elkader high school. He also worked for his father in the Kramer Meat Market.
In March 1911 he was married to Effie Boots. They started their married life on a farm at Hugo, Colo., and resided there for 14 years, then moved to Waucoma, Iowa, where he worked as a meat cutter. From there they moved back to Elkader where Mr. Kramer worked for A. A. Schultz in the meat market.
To this union two children were born, Mrs. Kathrine (Kramer) Moyna of Elkader and Arthur L. Kramer of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
He was a member of the Congregational church and the Masonic Lodge.
Besides his wife and two children Mr. Kramer is survived by four brothers and one sister who are as follows: Fred Kramer, Garnavillo; Henry Kramer, Buhl, Idaho; Louis Kramer, Compton, Calif.; Ray Kramer, Evanston, Ill., and Kathrine K. Bradley, Evanston, Ill. Also six grandchildren as follows: Patricia Moyna, Jack Moyna, Jerry Moyna, Michael Moyna, Ronnie Lee Kramer and Kathrine K. Kramer. His parents preceded him in death also a sister who died in infancy.
Relatives from a distance who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kramer, Mrs. Kathrine K. Bradley, Evanston, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kramer, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kramer, Garnavillo; Mrs. Florence Harbaugh, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Bertha Stenger, Springville; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Boots, Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Macha, New Hampton, Iowa.
