Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, April 25, for Mrs. Emma Gossman, 77, of Farmersburg. Mrs. Gossman died Sunday, April 22, in a St. Paul, Minn., hospital.
The Rev. R. H. Steege officiated at services in St. John's Lutheran church. Burial was in the Farmersburg and Wagner cemetery.
Surviving are three daughters: Violette Gossman, and Mrs. Florence Coe, of Farmersburg, and Mrs. Henry Goglin of St. Paul; two sons, Carl and Paul; three sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Emma Gossman, nee Drahn, was born in Farmersburg township August 22, 1873 as the daughter of Frederick and Dorothea Drahn. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On December 19, 1895 she was united in marriage to William Gossman. They lived in various places in Iowa, later making their home in Farmersburg.
In 1945 Mr. and Mrs. Gossman were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in the home of their daughter, Mrs. Henry Goglin of St. Paul, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband April 12, 1946.
For the past several years Mrs. Gossman made her home in St. Paul. She became ill and two weeks ago was taken to the hospital. She died last Sunday morning, April 22 at about 4 o'clock in the morning. She had reached the age of 77 years and eight months.
Survivors are her children: Violetta and Florence (Mrs. Lou Coe) of Farmersburg, Flossie (Mrs. Henry Goglin) , Karl and Paul, of St. Paul, Minn.; four granddaughters, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Harnack of Monona, two half-sisters, Mrs. Clara Walter of Farmersburg, and Mrs. Ed Fuelling of Luana, two half-brothers, Saward Henkes of McGregor and Arthur Henkes of Farmersburg, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, April 25, 1:45 p.m. at the family home in Farmersburg and 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Farmersburg. Burial was in the Farmersburg and Wagner cemetery.
