Moats - Moser marriage - 1959

Miss Marilyn Moser and Kenneth Moats were married at St. Mary's Catholic church in Strawberry Point, Nov. 21, The Rev Robert L. Palen officiated. The bride's attendants were her sister, Miss Rita Moser of Cedar Rapids, and Miss Jean Foster of Sparks, Nebr., cousin of the groom. The junior bride was Miss Maureen Smith of Cedar Rapids, and junior groom was Ricky Derr of Arlington. The groom's attendants were his brother, Gary Moats of Strawberry Point, and Calvin Derr of Arlington, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Jerry Shelton of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Gordon Swift of Mason City.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Moser and the late Mr. Albert Moser of Strawberry Point, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Moats, also of Strawberry Point. They are graduates of the Strawberry Point high school. The groom has been in the U.S. Navy since Sept. of 1957, having spent the last 18 months on Okinawa. He has a rating of journalist third class, and will be stationed at San Diego, Calif. after Dec. 04.

The new couple will leave for San Diego on Nov. 28 and will be at home there after Dec. 04.
