Miss Brenda Bush became the bride of Val Gene Jess of Waterloo in the First Methodist Church in Strawberry Point Sunday. The Rev. Robert Smith officiated. Miss Bush is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bush of Strawberry Point, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jess of Dennison are the parents of the groom. Mary Jo Bush, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Caryl Fredrick was the bridesmaid. Beverly Anderson, Independence, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl, and F. William Bush, brother of the bride, was the ringbearer. The best man was James Jess, Charter Oak, cousin of the groom, and Roger Baer of Schleswig and Art Bird, Waterloo, were groomsmen. Ushers were Gary Huebner and William Haasis.
The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school and the Waterloo School of Beauty Culture. She is employed at Boykens Falls Avenue beauty salon in Waterloo. The groom is a graduate of Schleswig high school and Barber College in Cedar Rapids. He is employed at Schute's Barber shop in Waterloo.
Following a wedding trip to the south, the new couple will be at home after Nov. 22 at 266 1/2 Hammond Street, Waterloo.
