An Old Settler at Rest.
Mrs. Albert Wheeler, who, as a pioneer resident of the county was better known as Mrs. David Womeldorf, died Sunday morning last, after a long illness, at her home at Algona, where she has lived for many years. Mrs. Wheeler was about seventy-seven years of age. After her marriage to Mr. Womeldorf she made her home on a farm in Glenwood township, which she still owned at the time of her death. Nelson Womeldorf, her son, and his wife went to Algona Sunday night, bringing the re-remains{sic} to Decorah Tuesday. The funeral service was held yesterday afternoon at two o’clock at the Untied Lutheran church, and interment was made in the cemetery at Freeport.

The remains of Mrs. Wheeler, who passed away at her home in Algona, were brought here for interment last Tuesday. Mrs. Wheeler was the mother of N. Womeldorf, who lives near here and came to this county in early pioneer days. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of friends in this community.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Mary who ws born Sept. 7, 1837 and died Apr. 4 1915.
