Charles Goltz, Jr., 57, of Cut Bank, Mont., died Dec. 20, 2001 at Great Falls, Mont., of complications from multiple sclerosis.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 3 from 5-7 p.m. at Fjelstul Funeral Home and Friday after 8 a.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at Fjelstul Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating.
Organist will be Kathy Murray and soloist Arlene Foltz will perform "The Lord's Prayer."
Casketbearers are Jerry Falck, Michael Goltz, Thomas Goltz, Carleton Haugen, Tom Henning, and Ronald Ruen.
Honorary Casketbearer is Dale Goltz.
Interment is in Phelps Cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah handling arrangements.
Charles "Chuck" Edward Goltz, Jr. was born Sept. 19, 1944 at Paso Robles, Calif., to Charles and Ethel (Nesheim) Goltz, Sr.
He grew up in Decorah until the age of 12, when he moved to Shelby.
He moved back to Decorah his senior year, where he graduated from high school in 1963.
Charles Goltz, Jr., returned to Shelby and worked for the Gambles Store and Buttrey's Foods, and then was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at Cut Bank until he retired.
He was a member of St Luke's Lutheran Church, served as scoutmaster for Shelby Boy Scout Troop #55 and was active in the Cut Bank Moose Lodge #334 and the American Legion.
Charles Goltz Jr., enjoyed stamp collecting, genealogy, photography, old cars, attending Boy Scout Jamborees and music.
Survivors include father Charles Goltz Sr. of Shelby; a son, Mark Murray of Davis, Calif.; sisters Donna Gladeau and Susan Lamb, both of Shelby; a brother, Dennis Goltz of Marina, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles "Chuck" Edward Goltz was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Goltz.
