OBITUARY.
The sad news came to Mrs. J. W. Hull last week Wednesday evening that her younger daughter, Mrs. Rudolph Volk, had died that day at her home at Lead, S. D., as the result of childbirth. The remains were brought to Decorah and the funeral was held Monday afternoon at Mrs. Hull’s home. Rev. M. Willett officiating, and interment was made in Phelps cemetery by the side of the deceased’s father, who passed away twelve years ago.
Josephine May Hull was born May 17, 1883, in Decorah. Here she spent her childhood, attending public school until her junior year, when she went to Stanley Co., S. D., and took up a claim. Eight years ago she married Rudolph Volk. They resided in Phillips, S. D., until three years ago, their home since being at Lead. Beside her husband and infant son she is survived by her daughter Emma and son Frank, her mother, two brothers (Frank and Harry Hull of Alexandria, S. D.,) and one sister (Mrs. Peter Graf of Calmar). To the afflicted ones the sympathy of many friends is extended.Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Phelps cemetery shows she was born in 1886 which does not agree with the above.
