Austin Joseph Boyd

Austin Joseph Boyd was born July 11, 1984 at Keokuk, Iowa and died Thursday, February 1, 1990 in an auto accident southwest of Douds at age of 5.

He was a kindergarten student at New Life Academy southwest of Douds.

Surviving are his mother, Cindy Boyd, grandparents Charles and Vivian Boyd and great-grandparents, Bud Finton and Louise Boyd, all of Keokuk. Also surviving are his foster parents, Rev. Phil and Kathy Campbell, a foster brother, Brian Campbell, a foster sister, Brenda Campbell, all of Douds, other relatives and friends.

A foster brother, Brandon Campbell lost his lie in the same accident.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 5, 1990 at 1 p.m. in Bethel Worship Center near Douds with Relkv.(err) Dean Grant officiating. Another service was held Tuesday, February 6, 1990 at 11 a.m. in DeJong Funeral Home, Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial was established for New Life Academy. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.

Austin Joseph Boyd
July 11, 1984 - Feb. 1, 1990

DOUDS - Austin Joseph Boyd, 5, of Douds, Iowa, died Thursday, Feb. 1, at 4 p.m., the result of a two-vehicle accident southwest of Douds.

He was born July 11, 1984, in Keokuk, the son of Cindy Boyd. He was a kindergarten student at the New Life Academy in Douds.

Survivors include his mother of Keokuk; grandparents Bud Finton and Louise Boyd, both of Keokuk; three aunts, one uncle, two cousins; foster parents Rev. Phil and Kathy Campbell of Douds; foster-brother Brian Campbell of Douds and foster-sister Brenda Campbell, also of Douds.

A foster brother, Brandon Campbell, was also killed in the automobile accident.

Services were held at today at the Bethel Worship Center, southwest of Douds with the Rev. Dean Grant officiating.

Keokuk services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the DeJong's Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Hauser officiating.

Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. tonight at DeJong's Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the New Life Academy in Douds.

DeJong's Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
