Carl Bloomquist

Carl A. Bloomquist, 84, of Fairfield died at 8:15 p.m. April 27, 1990, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born July 23, 1905, in Glendale to Charles and Christine Hanson Bloomquist. He married Gladys Daub on June 20, 1934. She died in 1953. He married Mary Richardson on August 30, 1956. She died Sept. 13, 1987.

He lived most of his life in Jefferson County, worked for the Iowa State Highway Commission and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fairfield, Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 15 AF&AM and the White Shrine.

He is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Pulliam of Homer, Ill.; a son, Richard of Bloomfield; a stepdaughterr(err), Joyce Wissler of Rio Grande, Arizone(err); 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four brothers, Bert of Fairfield, John of Birmingham, Earl of Agency and Robert of Martville, N.Y.; and a sister Eva Speer of Agency.

The service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 30, 1990 at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield, the Rev. John W. Meyer officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to Fairfield Library or his church.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield was in charge of arrangements.
