Charles McClain, 78, of Fairfield died at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 27, 1990, at Jefferson Hospital Long-Term Care Unit.
He was born Dec. 12, 1911, in Fairfield to Fred and Alta Parker McClain. He married Marjorie Easton on August 4, 1935, in Fairfield.
He lived most of his life in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1929 and Parsons College in 1934. He served with U.S. Army during World War II. He was a music teacher at Milton, Birmingham, Stockport, Eldon and Cardinal schools. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield for 66 years and Fairfield Elks Lodge BPOE 1192.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Judy Cornelius of Tampa, Fla. and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn and three sisters, Gladys Ball, Catherine Thomas and Margaret Louise McClain.
The service was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 19990 at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Bonifacio Mequi officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to Long Term Care Unit at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield Public Library or Leap Frog Fund.
