Herman H. Kuhljuergen

WEST POINT - Herman H. Kuhljuergen, 99, West Point, died at 10:07 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Fort Madison Community Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Kuhljuergen was born March 30, 1890, at St. Paul and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired farmer and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of West Point.

On Jan. 19, 1915, in West Point, he married Catherine Nacke, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Willilam (Matilda) Cooper, Fort Madison, Mrs. Verl (Rita) Shelman, Hillsboro, and Mrs. R.E. (Thelma) Thorton, Lexington, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, seven brother and three sisters. His parents were Chris and Mary Spexarth Kuhljuergen.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church in West Point. The Rev. Gerald Stovenel will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The body is at the Link Funeral Hom where the rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Wednesday will be recited at 3 p.m. Wednesday will be recited at 3 p.m. Wednesday and where the parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A memorial is being established with St. Mary's Church.
