Davis A. Pollock
Davis Allen Pollock, son of Davis E. and Dorothy Barker Pollock, was born August 31, 1942 in Douds, Iowa and died early the morning of Friday, September 28, 1990 at his home in Madison, Wisconsin.
He married Marcia Tedrow January 1, 1965 in Douds.
He graduated from Douds High School, Drake University in Des Moines and Stanford University Executive Program in California. He became a Fellow for the Society of Actuaries in 1973. He was a long time employee of Central Life Assurance in Des Moines and was honored for 25 years service in the summer of 1989. He served as Executive Vice President of Central Life Group Insurance in Madison from 1983-89. At the time of his death he was Executive Vice President for Corporate Development of Central Life in Des Moines. He served on numerous insurance industry boards and on the board of Meriter Hospital i Madison. He was a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon, an honorary mathematics fraternity, First United Methodist Church, Madison and Celestial Lodge No. 413, A.F. & A.M., Douds.
Surviving are his wife Marcia, a son, Eric and a daughter, Kristen, all of Madison, his parents of Douds, two sisters, Margaret Howarth, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and carol Pollock, San Diego, Calif., other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, Madison. Visitation was Monday evening at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds. Graveside services were Tuesday, Oct. 2 in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds, Rev. Stephen Metcalf-Conte officiating. A memorial service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, Des Moines. Memorials were established for Christ United Methodist Church, Douds or American Cancer Society.
