Mrs. Iver Heglund [sic] Of Roland Dead; Funeral on Tuesday

Roland, May 18--Funeral services for Mrs. Iver Hegland, 59, who died at the University hospital at Iowa City very suddenly Saturday at 11 a. m. will be held Tuesday at 2:00 at Bergen church in Roland, following a prayer service at the home at 1:30. Burial the services will be in charge of the pastor, Rev. Allen E. Nelson.

Death was due to a heart attack. She had been failing in health for the past year and had been taken to the Iowa City hospital on Tuesday. Death came as a great surprise to the family and friends. She was born at Morris, Illinois, Jan. 7, 1883, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Espeland. It was at Morris that she was married to Iver Hegland, March 8, 1900. The husband died at the home here May 27 last.

Three children were born to them. Orvin died at the age of 18 and they are survived by the son, Bertram Hegland and daughter, Mrs. Clara Helland, and grandchildren, Eugene and Lois Helland, all of Roland.

She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Hegland of Roland, Mrs. Carl Halverson of Ringstead and Mrs. Henry Lilliland of Slater and a brother, Levi Espeland of Ellsworth.
