Mrs. Ole Wierson Dies At Home in Roland; Funeral Thursday
Roland, May 12--Mrs. Ole Wierson, 76, native daughter of this part of the county, died at 12:30 p. m. Monday at her home here, after a long illness, death being due to complications incident to her advanced years. She had been a sufferer from heart trouble for about eight years and had been confined to her bed since New Years when she was injured in a fall.
Funeral rites will be Thursday, with a prayer service at the home at 1:30, followed by services at Salem Lutheran church of which she was a member, with her pastor Rev. Olaf Holen in charge. Burial will be in the cemetery at Story City.
Her maiden name was Carrie Erickson Tjelmeland, a daughter of Eric and Gjaer Tjelmeland, born on a farm near Story City, October 21, 1865. She was baptized in the Lutheran church by Rev. Amlund.
She was married to Ole Wierson fifty-two years ago on May 31.
They spent the most of their married life on a farm near Story City until 1929 when they located in Roland. The exception was four years spent at Kinyon, Minn.
Six of eight children born to them are alive. One child died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Milo Thompson [should be Thorson] died five years ago.
Surviving with the husband are Mrs. Veva Teigland of Ames, Mrs. Irven Goodmanson of Roland, Mrs. Harvey Jorgenson of Story City, Ed Wierson of near Ontario, and Otis and Leslie Wierson of Roland.
There are also 38 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Mrs. Eric Johnson of Lakefield, Minn.
