OBITUARY

FUNERAL AND OBITUARY OF N. L. LARSON
(Clear Lake Mirror)

N. L. Larson, 55, a plumber, died at his home on East Main street, Clear Lake, Thursday morning, Sept. 3rd, after suffering failing health for the past eight months. He underwent a major operation at the local hospital in May.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Zion Lutheran church, with Rev. Reuben Mostrom officiating. Mrs. A. E. Folkmann sang several selections at this service. Then the funeral cortege went to Story City, the former home of the family, where services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. Mostrom officiated, assisted by Rev. T. T. Heimarck. William Craig and Rev. Mostrom each rendered a vocal solo. Burial was at the Fairview cemetery in Story City.

Mr. and Mrs. Larson were building a new home at 229 So. Third street and were moving to their new location on the day that Mr. Larson was stricken.

Mr. Larson, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Larson of Clear Lake, was born near Waterville, in Allamakee county on Oct.12, 1886, living there until he was 11 years old. He then went with his folks in Hanlontown and he attended Waldorf college at Forest City. He clerked for a while and taught school a year.

He followed the plumber's trade at Story City and on July 28, 1915, he was married to Martha Jacobson of Story City. They lived there until 1935, when they moved to Clear Lake.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran church of Clear Lake.

Surviving him are his wife and one son, Capt. Harold Larson, a pilot in the Army Air Corps, stationed at Westover Field, Mass. He flew Friday afternoon from Massachusetts to Des Moines, and then was met there and taken to Story City. He came on a 10 day leave.

Other survivors are one brother, Clarence Larson, Minneapolis; and four sisters, Hazel Larson, Minneapolis; Mrs. E. H. Freeman, Clear Lake; Mrs. Fred Reed, Arcadia, Calif. and Mrs. Lewis Hanson of Waterloo.

Relatives at the funeral included Olina Gilbertson and Mr. and Mrs. Sophus Blakestad of Northwood; Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Soma and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Sisson of Grenada, Minn.; Mrs. Oscar Stromberg of Elmore, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Lou Hanson of Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Larson, Minneapolis.
