Ms. Leanne Ludwig, age 75, of Remsen, previously of Orange City, passed away quietly on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, after suffering from Parkison’s Disease for more than fifteen years.

There will be no services at this time. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is assisting the family.

Leanne Christine was born on March 12, 1948, in Le Mars, the daughter of Ronald M. and Shirley A. (Gerst) Ludwig, and was baptized at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She graduated from the Spalding Catholic High School in Granville in 1967 and later from a business school in Mankato, Minnesota.

She lived and worked in various cities, most recently in Houston, Texas, where she worked at Global Healthcare Alliance. After she retired in 2014, she moved to Orange City, and in 2017, she became a resident of the Happy Siesta Health Care Center. Leanne was fond of animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds. She enjoyed working on crafts, such as doing puzzles, crocheting, and knitting, and especially loved spending time with friends and meeting new people.

Survivors include her three sisters, Kathee Ludwig, and her husband, John Crandall, Of Essex Junction, Vermont; Edie, and her husband, Ken Kroon, of Alton; and Ellie Bell, of Alta; a sister-in-law, Blanche Ludwig; seven nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Ludwig; a sister in infancy, Christy Ludwig; and Ellie Bell’s significant other, Joe Mugge.
