Last rites for Mrs. Clarence (Edith) Walter, 79, were held at the West Liberty Methodist church Nov. 7 with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Pallbearers were Jack Vincent, Robert and Gary Gregory, Neil Hildebrand, Scott Peters and Kenneth Collison. Mrs. Dorothy Carey was organist.

Mrs. Walter died at her home in West Liberty Nov. 3 following a heart attack.

The daughter of Stanford and Grace Ferguson Gregory, she was born at West Liberty July 12, 1914. She married Clarence Walter at Wilton Feb. 16, 1941. The couple farmed in the Moscow area, moving to West Liberty in 1977.

She was a member of the Methodist church at West Liberty and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Margarite Collison, Tipton; Mrs. Mary Hadley, West Branch and Mrs. Shirley Schultz, Fairfield; 2 brothers, Albert Gregory, Wilton and Robert Gregory, Tipton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988 and a brother, Stanley, killed in action in World War II.
