Funeral services for Mrs. James (Betty A.) Smith, 68, a native of Moscow. were held in Des Moines Oct. 16. Mrs. Smith died of cancer at her home in Cummings, Oct. 14.

The daughter of Lester and Elizabeth Keller, she was born in Moscow. She moved to Des Moines in 1941. She taught school in Muscatine and then in Des Moines for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters, Candice Wright, Oakland, Calif. and Sandra Stamer, Des Moines, 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Doris Wright, Stuart and Evelyn Jennings, Des Moines and a brother, Richard, Des Moines.
