Funeral services for Leo (Babe) Herr, 79, were held at the Lacock Funeral Home, Wilton, Oct. 14, 1989 with the Rev. Paul Pennington officiating. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman Grunder, Robert and Dan Herr, Richard Marthaler, Gerald Reifert and Ray Stasche.

Mr. Herr died at Veterans Administration Medical center, Iowa City, Oct. 12.

The son of Ed and Christie Lan Herr, he was born in Muscatine county Jan. 2, 1910. He was a 1929 graduate of Durant high school in 1929. He never married. He had worked in construction.

Mr. Herr served in the army in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion at Wilton.

He is survived by a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Leota Grunder, Wilton. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
