A memorial service for Leo Salemink, 63, Wilton, was held Aug. 22, 1988 at the Wilton Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. Curtis Moermond officiating. The organist was Linda Timmsen. The body was cremated.
Mr. Salemink died Aug. 18 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.
The son of Theodore and Frances Pothoff Salemink, he was born Sept. 3, 1924 in Nichols. He married Jeanette Rokis June 17, 1947 in Davenport. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, was an Army veteran of World War II and was past president of the Muscatine Men's Bowling association. He retired in 1982 as office manager of Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative in Wilton.
Mr. Salemink is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Joe and Ray, both of Wilton and Earl, Tulsa, Okla.; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
