Private funeral services for Orville Valett, 75, Durant, were held Aug 26, 1988 at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with the Rev. Paul Pennington officiating. Pallbearers were Gerald Valett, Chris Schult, Gary and Randy Frisch, Wayne Hazen and Arnie Kempf. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Valett died Aug. 24 at the Wilton Nursing Home.

The son of George and Daisy Prichard Valett, he was born Aug. 2, 1913 in Muscatine. He married Alberta Hazen Jan. 25, 1935 in Nichols. He retired in 1977 after serving for 35 years as an agent for the Sun Oil Co. in Durant.

Mr. Valett is survived by his wife, Alberta; a son, Gene, Boise, Idaho; 2 daughters, Mrs. Gary (Pat) Frisch, Durant and Mrs. Daryl (Karen) Swansen, Blue Grass; 7 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Burdett, Hayward, Calif. and 2 sisters, Mrs. Earl (Pat) Darrow and Mrs. Eddie (Marilyn) White, both of Auburn, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson and a brother.
