Funeral services for Werner H. Ewald, 88, were held at West Liberty March 28 with the Rev. David J. Hotelling of the Hillcrest Baptist church, Muscatine, officiating. Burial was in the Moscow cemetery.

Mr. Ewald died at the Bethesda Care center, Mediapolis, March 26.

He was born at Altamont, Ill., Nov. 12, 1898 and was married to Trella Ramsey Nov. 26, 1923. He was a farmer and worked for Louis Rich Co. and the city of West Liberty before he retired.

He is survived by a son, Roger, Muscatine; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Ellen) Sieh, Moscow; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, a grandson, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
