Chester Dickey 1915-1987

Funeral services for Chester (Mike) Otto Dickey, 71, Atalissa, were held in Muscatine March 27 with the Rev. Denley Canfield and the Rev. Manzel Berling, Island United Methodist church officiating. Pallbearers were Christine, Angela, Mike, Scott, Todd, Matt, Dallas and Paul Dickey Jr., Kim Rock Campbell and Brian Campbell; Jody and Tom Rock Jr. and Bill and Luke Ziegenhorn. Joy Combs was organist and Florence Hetzler, vocalist.

Mr. Dickey died at his home near Atalissa March 25.

The son of Claude A. and Hazel Hiatt Dickey, he was born at Atalissa Oct. 7, 1915. He was married to Norma Satterthwaite in Muscatine Dec. 28, 1938.

Mr. Dickey farmed in Cedar and Muscatine counties and retired from work at the HWH Machine shop in Moscow. He was a member of the former Presbyterian church at Atalissa, the Muscatine County Farm Bureau and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Donald, Atalissa; Joe, Palm Bay, Fla. and Paul, Wilton; 2 daughters, Mrs. Rolland (Judie) Ziegenhorn, Muscatine and Mrs. Tom (Sue) Rock, Atalissa; 13 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild and a brother, Clifford, Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
