Carl Johan Oscar Karlsson Dahlgren was born on 17 July 1846 in Djursdala Socken, Garden Langbr, Kalmar, Sweden. He died on 1 July 1931 in Phelps County, Nebraska. He married Christina Maria Wenstrand on 25 November 1871 in Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa. She was born on 17 March 1850 in Talleryd, Vena Socken, Kalmar, Sweden. She was christened on 24 March 1850. She died on 5 July 1924 in Phelps County, Nebraska.

The two daughters who died in or near Red Oak were Della Selvina Dahlgren [22 September 1872 -- 16 August 1875] and Ida Victoria Dahlgren [28 January 1874 --- 30 August 1875]. Oscar and Christina had two more children in Red Oak, Vina Victoria Dahlgren who was born on 22 September 1877 and Enoch Oscar Dahlgren who was born on 15 September 1879. By the 1880 census, the family had moved to Phelps County, Nebraska. Oscar and Christina are buried in the Moses Hill Cemetery in Loomis, Phelps County, Nebraska

I could not locate the young daughters' deaths in the WPA grave records of Montgomery County.
