Funeral Service and Masonic Service for Charley J. Hall were held Sunday, February 10, 1985 at 1:00p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hastings.
Reverend George Weltzel and Humanity Lodge No. 378 officiated with Horace Richardson as organist and Mrs. Charles Vestal as soloist.
Pall bearers were Max Bachler, Dean Darby, Bob Finchem, Roger Hudson, Russell Perkins, and Ray Hites. Mrs. Russell Perkins was at the Registry Book. Flower Ladies were Mrs. Dean Darby and Mrs. David Edie. Interment was in the Hastings Cemetery.Charley James Hall was born Hastings, Iowa June 11, 1904. He was the son of Stella Anderson and J. Harvey Hall. He was the oldest of three children. He married Alta Hunter in Maryville, Missouri May 24th, 1932.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Stella Hall, his brother Ralph, and a sister, Letha Marle. Charley died February 7, 1985 at the age of 80 years.
He was a member of the Humanity Lodge 378 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Hastings Volunteer Fire Department, the Levi Burton American Legion Post Emerson, and a life long member of the Hastings United Methodist Church.
NOTES: Additional information from service folder and handwritten notes by Alta. His mother's middle name was May. Charley was a barber all his life and he worked with his father Harvey and his brother Ralph as painters. Military Rites by Levi Post No. 575 of the American Legion. Ushers were Mark Darby and Chip Hudson. Mrs. Darrell Taylor was in charge of the Memorial Fund. Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home, Malvern, Iowa, in charge of arrangements.
