Harold Everette Stephenson, son of Louis Layfette and Ethel Hart Stephenson was born in Clarke County, Iowa on June 11, 1913 and departed this life December 24, 1988 at Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 75 years, six months and 13 days.

He received his education in the Clarke County schools. On October 29, 1930 he was united in marriage to Burla Camp at Indianola, Iowa and three children were born to this union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Barbara Jean in infancy; three brothers, Clarence, Louie and Franklin; and two sisters, Gladys Winn and Pearl Gould.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Burla of St. Charles; daughter, Elizabeth Palmer and husband, Elwood of Truro; son, Clifford and wife, Jeri of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Stephenson of Des Moines and Phoebe Stephenson of Osceola; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 28 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery. The Pastor Douglas Helton of St. Charles officiated.
