Page 6, Columns 6 & 7Lois Garnita Husted, daughter of Lemon and Ann Black Collins was born at St. Charles, Iowa on July 23, 1902 and departed this life at Maplewood Manor in Keota, Iowa on June 3, 1989 at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Lois received her education in the St. Charles Schools.
On December 17, 1919 she was united in marriage to Eugene C. Husted at Osceola, Iowa. To this union six children were born.
Lois lived in Springfield, Missouri until 1970 when they returned to Truro, Iowa and moved to Knoxville, Iowa in 1978 and had been in nursing home in Keota, Iowa since 1984. Lois was a member of Brentwood Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene in 1981; one daughter, Marjorie; one son, Bill; three brothers; and one sister.
She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter, Elaine Beverlin and husband of Newton, Iowa; one daughter, Kathryn Dutcher and husband, Johnny of Carlisle, Iowa; daughter, Carol Van Fleet and husband, Lyle of Sigourney, Iowa; daughter, Betty Gill and husband, John of Mountain Home, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Cathy Husted of Knoxville, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 6 at 11 a.m. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery at St. Charles. Rev. Tom Webster of St. Charles officiated.
