Taken from the issue of Nov. 20, 1869: Near Fredonia, Louisa county, Ia., Oct. 21st, 1869, Elizabeth Whisler, consort of Elder Isaac Whisler; aged 51 years, 4 months and 29 days. The subject of this notice emigrated with her family from Wayne county, Ohio, in the spring of 1856, and has been a resident of this county for 13 years. She embraced religion in the fall of 1844, was baptized and united herself with the Church of God, in which she lived a pious, devoted and exemplary Christian to the time of her death. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss. By her request, Elder A. McGrew, from Grandview, preached her funeral sermon to a very large and respectable congregation, from the text of scripture which she selected herself.
