William Hingst, a well known resident of Louisa county, passed away at the Burlington hospital last Wednesday morning, January 17th, where he was taken January 9th to undergo an operation for appendicitis. He withstood the shock of the operation well and was believed to be progressing rapidly toward a complete recovery when he suffered an attack of Bright's disease which caused his death.

Mr. Hingst was born December 12th, 1860 at Burlington. From that city he moved to Morning Sun where he resided until four years ago when he removed to a farm two and a half miles southeast of Letts. He is survived by his wife and five children: Henry, Albert and George, and Mrs. Otto Swartz, of Burlington and Miss Lydia at home. The remains were taken to his home in Letts where the funeral services were held, after which the body was removed to Morning Sun where interment was made.
