Elizabeth Jamison was born June 10, 1845, in Louisa county, Iowa, where she died August 31, 1911, aged 66 years, 2 months, 21 days. Her father and mother were Samuel and Susannah Jamison and she had three brothers: Merritt, deceased, John D. M. Wapello, Iowa, Jas. B. Delmar, California; and one sister, Susannah Thompson, Gernet, Kansas. She had also ten half brothers and sisters only two of whom are living: Mortimer, Culgary, Canada and Norman F., Wapello, Iowa. Her parents were among the early settlers in Louisa county and their farm home on the edge of the bluff five miles south of Wapello was where she spent the larger part of her life, had her last illness and passed away.

She lived most of the time with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Hattie Jamison, in this old home and spent some years with Mr. and Mrs Bear and with O. B. Jamison, one year with her sister, Mrs. Thompson, in Kansas and also kept house for her brother at the old home for three or four years. She was married to Benjamin Schultz in 1885 and her new home but a short while west of Newport. She was hospitable, kind and loved to have her friends come to see her. She was kindly spoken of, tried to do her part in the world, and will be missed. Was a member of the Bethel M. E. church, loved to attend its services. Her last illness had gradually come on for several months, but she was able to sit in her chair until the very last. She passed away August 31. Funeral services were held at Bethel by the pastor J. E. Newsom, Friday Sept. 1st, at 3:00 p. m. and burial took place in the adjoining church yard.
