Page 2Toolesboro - Our community was saddened by the accidental death by drowning of Oren Minor, only child of Mrs. Ben Minor, living on the Hiller place north of the Oakville bridge. Oren in company with other boys Saturday afternoon were at the river north of the Oakville bridge wading in the water. He could not swim and stepped in deep water. Help was called. His body was recovered about a half hour later Dr. Ditto and Childs arrived and did all in their power to restore life, but to no purpose. He was taken to his home where kind friends did all they could to alleviate the shock and sorrow of those left behind to mourn his untimely death. The funeral was held Monday at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church in Oakville, conducted by Rev. Butler, after which his his body was tenderly laid to rest in Parsons cemetery.
