The remains of Mrs. John Schrage who passed away in Quincy, Ill., last Tuesday afternoon were brought to this city Wednesday evening and the funeral was held at the German M. E. church Friday afternoon at 2:30, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Wapello cemetery. Mrs. Schrage was born in Muscatine, Ia., and was 48 years of age at the time of her death. In later years her parents moved on a farm near Wapello, Iowa, now known as the Eversmeyer old home place. At the age of twenty she was converted uniting at the same time with the German M. E church of this place. In 1897 she left Wapello for Warrenton, Mo., where she was engaged for eight years as an assistant in central Wesleyan Orphan Home. After this she accepted a position in the Old Peoples Home of Quincy where she remained for five years.

There are a host of friends in this city who will mourn her death and sympathize with Mr. Schrage in his loss, which is the more painful as they were only married the 16th of last February. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Emma Blasinger, of Wapello, Ia.; Charles Eversmeyer, of Wapello, Ia.; Louis Eversmeyer, of Nyaunghiam India; Edward Eversmeyer, of Wapello, Ia.; Mrs. A. J. Williamson, of Wapello, Iowa and Miss Elizabeth Eversmeyer, of Davenport, Ia.
