Elizabeth Schofield McClung was born near Manchester, England, July 2, 1833 and died in Morning Sun, Ia, July 2, 1911. She with her parents, Joseph and Charlotte Schofield came to America in the year 1839, settling on a farm in Franklin county, Ind. The family moved to Iowa in the year 1852, settling on a farm in Louisa county near Wapello. She became a member of the United Presbyterian church at the age of 18 years and remained a consistent member. She was married to Nathan McClung Oct. 15, 1856, who preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1869.

She leaves to mourn her loss three brothers and two sisters, viz, Aaron Schofield of Windom,Minn.; Isaac Schofield, of Morning Sun, Ia., George Schofield, of Wapello, Mrs. Mary Tucker of Morning Sun, and Mrs. Geo. Rauscher, of Wapello, Iowa. Elizabeth McClung was kind an d considerate by nature. She never swerved from her faith and her perfect trust in God. Interment in Harrison cemetery.
